Mary Ellen set up and taught the home ecomics course at Rosslyn, and Marvin taught music for grades 7-12, as well as drama (first year) and high school bible (second and third years). Marvin also led the choir at Nairobi Babtist Church.

Mary Ellen currently works in the Alterations Department at their local Saks Fifth Avenue, as well as caring for their granddaughter, Jordan, two days a week. Marvin is Church Music Consultant and Order Processing Manager at Mathis Music, a store that sells pianos, organs, and print music. He is also Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church, Bradenton, Florida, where he directs the santuary choir and the handbell choir.
